Together, making a difference

Go beyond the checklist.
Create a culture of safety.

The We’ve Got Your Back program provides advanced, trauma-free school safety training that goes beyond a basic safety checklist. When educators and students actively engage in identifying, assessing, and responding to potential risks, morale improves and a school culture of relaxed readiness emerges.

Our school safety approach lets teachers focus more on instruction, especially when they use the 5/15 "When-Then Scenarios." Designed to prevent fear and anxiety, teachers use our short, 5-to-15-minute games, scenarios, and discussions to teach students age-appropriate safety skills without overwhelming them.

Our program empowers youth and adults with the skills to identify, respond to, and safely navigate dangerous situations.

Unlike traditional safety programs, we focus on strength-based learning. The WGYB program equips teachers and students with the tools to respond confidently and calmly in various situations, fostering a safer and more connected school environment.

Through regular rehearsals and the development of knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) for crisis response, students learn how to assess situations quickly and effectively. This empowerment is crucial, as it gives them the autonomy to decide whether to escape, evade, evacuate, hide, or defend themselves based on the evolving nature of the threat.

Including the We've Got Your Back program is an opportunity to discover how invaluable maintaining a team approach to school safety can be.

Building Awareness as the Foundation for Safety

School-wide participation

True safety is a shared responsibility—built through trust, relationships, and connection between home and school. Our school-wide participation in the program goes beyond school safety rules and drills.

WGYB situational awareness training develops the habit of paying attention, thinking ahead, and being present, whether it’s during a fire drill, a conflict with a classmate, or simply walking through the school hallway.

No scare tactics

When a safety event occurs, it’s essential educators and students feel empowered, not overwhelmed. With WGYB, students are prepared to stay grounded and think clearly, to work with others, including adults and peers, and to respond safely and effectively.

Rather than reacting with fear, students learn how to:

  • Understand and manage their emotional responses, even under stress

  • Collaborate with others by listening, supporting, and following directions

  • Recognize when something feels off and take thoughtful action

  • Step up as a helper or leader, offering support to classmates when needed

Age-appropriate lessons

At its core, the WGYB program builds real-life skills that students can use every day to stay safe and connected. Through age-appropriate lessons and ongoing practice, students learn to:

  • Stay alert and make thoughtful, safe decisions

  • Regulate their emotions during stressful or unexpected moments

  • Support themselves and others when help is needed

  • Strengthen their sense of belonging and build positive relationships with peers and adults
